Hops are a unique crop that is both antimicrobial and used almost exclusively in beer. As a result, we do not debate whether hops are a food product – they are. YCH HOPS is committed to managing risks at our facilities and the farms we work with to prevent contamination which could pose a threat to human health.

YCH has adopted a risk-based approach to assessing and improving the food safety level of hop harvest and production facilities. At the farm, food safety is addressed via our GreenChief® farm quality management program. In production, YCH ensures that all facilities operate in accordance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) as enforced by the US Food and Drug Administration. Our employees are provided training on food safety during orientation and for their specific job roles. In addition, we employ a Hazards Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system for all areas of production. These programs are integrated with our ISO management systems.
