An Aroma hop

New Zealand

aroma profile: Citrus, Tropical Fruit

Bred as part of the Hops with a Difference programme, Motueka™ is an excellent hop in many applications from first kettle additions through late gifting. This hop offers a unique aroma and flavour profile suitable for producing bigger styles. Excellent when employed in multiple additions from a single hop bill and sits well on the palate to balance specialty malt sweetness. It is an excellent variety for a wide range of styles from Saison through to Pilsners. It is extremely versatile in the brewery.

Aroma: Specific aroma descriptors include distinctive fresh crushed citrus, "Mojito" lime character, lively lemon and lime tones with background hints of tropical fruit.

Brewed a witbier with grapefruit peel, good complement.

I did a red IPA with Mosaic-Galaxy-Motueka, with an enormous dry hopping of motueka.

For now it tastes like soil and grass. If that's good or bad it's up to you.

Just brewed a saison that was dry hopped with this hop. Amazing and totally complemented the Pekko hop. Give it a try.

Brewed a SMaSH with 2 row and English Pale Yeast. Lime, melon and mango are the hop profile.

Yeah. I think motueka doesn't contribute to any tropical or fruity taste or aroma at all. For me it is all earthy and spicy!

I hope you guys don’t like Motueka. I use it all the time and it is hard to get. So, if you don’t buy this great hop variety, it leaves more for me. I have won 7 competitions with recipes that include Motueka, so fir me there is no question. It is one of the best hops out there.
